Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorship- We were working on at the historic sites and we had a very limited timeframe in which we could work.
So, we had to wait for the sites to be closed to the public.
We had a cast of extras who were historical reenactors and we could only work with them one day, because of the way, the sort of access we had to the sites and we had to be done before dark.
So, this meant that things had to happen pretty quickly.
Three days for a, you know, 15-minute film is pretty short amount of time.
On the last day, it was pouring rain and it didn't pour rain on the other days.
So, this added another layer of complexity to an already very tight film schedule.
But everybody was very prepared and very committed to doing the best they possibly could with few takes.
Also, we had a horse, of course, we have to have a horse for a story that's about a headless horseman, but unlike a Hollywood set where you bring in horse handlers and the horses are used to this, our horse had never been on film before.
And so, we had to figure out how he would work and how long he would work.
And the poor rider who was in this costume that had a fake, you know, headless aspect to it, which was a wool top on it.
We're filming in early September.
It's in the high eighties and nineties.
So, there were limited takes we could do with lots of breaks.
The horse was a little bit unpredictable initially, but it sort of warmed up to the fact that it was getting lots of attention and lots of treats as it was going along.
But that was one of the issues, just figuring out how the horse would work and would we get good material.
And in the end we got great material with lots of options for shots.
